Join JVSO on this 97-mile trip to visit the Wendish Museum.

Travel back in time with other JV friends and neighbors as we head toward Giddings, Texas to learn about Slavic immigrants from eastern Germany called the Wends, or Sorbs. Our day will include visiting one of the historic Texas painted churches from 1871, the Wendish museum and other authentic buildings and cemetery from this little-known community. We will hear from historians, enjoy an authentic Wendish lunch and have free time to explore the gift shop and property. We will leave Jersey Village at 9am and return by 4pm after visiting the museum and shop on the property. Cost is $20, which includes lunch. The amount of walking is not excessive. Note: The annual Wendish Festival is a highly popular event in late September.
